I just wanted to introduce myself to all of you...
I have been a systems accountant for the last 7yrs almost. Lately I have been an Oracle Financial consultant...Strangly enough, i hate doing my own accounts as i cant simply login from anywhere and quickly type up an invoice.. I have been using sage line 50 (which is such overkill for what I do) for the past few years. I have uploaded Simple Invoice to my webserver and I cant wait to have a quick play and hopefully get it up and running for my own needs. I may mod the invoices script to pose as an expenses system too and intergrate the two with a simple reporting script i have used for some time on other small projects. The look between the reporting and the Invoices is completely different, so I may look at the reporting visual looks if I do this.
Im a qualified accountant, so Im happy to answer an questions regarding this. Im not a PHP whizz kid tho, so i may be posting up a few questions over the next few months.

re expense
- you may be in luck - i've just finished an expenses extension for Simple Invoices - refer: http://simpleinvoices.org/wiki/expense_extension - its very basic - you can assign an expense to an invoice, customer, biller, product and expense account. THe main purpose of this extension is reporting - so you can't bill an expense etc..
- its simple but should do the job for most people
- note this is in svn now - but will be included in the next release
re reports
- any help making report better would be great thanks!

edit config/define.php and set $environment = "production";
if still errors edit config/config.ini and set show errors to 1 and error_level to E_ALL
retest and let us know how you go
also re expense
- you'll have to run a couple of sql scripts in ./extensions/expense/install
