- I'm really missing an actively used bugtracker and a list of active developers! Bugs should be linked to a developer and actively fixed; There are lot's of bugs here: http://code.google.com/p/simpleinvoices/issues/list, but where is linuxpcc? Those reports are from 2006;
- There should also be a roadmap for future implementations (Mantis can do this automatically and most other solutions to);
- We should either choose for Zend and implement all other libraries into it, or not use it at all. Zend is great, but it has a huge overhead. Using it partially is therefore not a real option in my opinion;
- Coding standards...
I think this product has huge potential, but I have a feeling that the code is getting a bit messy.
hey starscream
thanks for the post!
re bugtracker
- we've just trac, google code, etc.. but since i've started using the google code wiki for all things bugs/issues/plans its been alot better
- refer: http://code.google.com/p/simpleinvoices/wiki/todo
- yeah its not a real issue tracker - but they are to much work - and the wiki is great
- bugs & plans go into todo
- changelog = done page
- known issues with each release in the known isues page
- random ideas and suggestions in the ideas page
- more random stuff in the notes page
re linuxppc
- thats my old gmail account :)
re Zend
- Zend is great - i agree that there are huge overheads to using the full on Zend MVC stuff
- Simple Invoices was created long before ZF came onto the scene - thats why we've only used bits and pieces of the framework
- if you want to help turn Simple Invoices into a real ZF based application then I'm all for it
re standards
- its been whatever works but i'm happy to start to move to the ZF coding standards
-- refer: http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/coding-standard.html
let me know your thoughts
cheers
justin
