What the app really needs is a time billing module and a 'wip' or work in progress option. Clients often want billing at specific times and it would be really nice to log on and enter time and/or sales of items into an account and then create the invoice at the specified date/time
How about some themes action?
I could probably help with a lot of this but would need a bit of assistance with some of the php

Andrew
Thanks Andrew,
I've been thinking about time billing for a while
re wip
re themes

option to choose the currency & story it with the amounts in the database
Thanks Jason,
i've added multi-currency support into our 'dreamtime' roadmap http://www.simpleinvoices.org/roadmap/dreamtime
once this vote is over and work done on new features - i'll look to include this option in the next round of voting

A very simple feature I would like to see is a “status” field attached to the invoices. I am a consultant who works with a professional accountant and this field would greatly help us track the invoicing process from creation through payment. Our typical scenario is that I create an initial “service record” (an unofficial invoice) and submit it to my accountant, the accountant translates this into an invoice in an accounting package with all the correct charges, taxes, etc. and sends me a pdf copy, I review and approve or ask for changes, once approved the invoice is mailed to the client. Example statuses could be: “created”, “awaiting approval”, “approved”, “mailed”, etc.. Might be best if the field was user-definable.

I generally use the itemised invoice and it works well for me, I would also be interested in adding in some crm type aspects against quotes
finally (I suppose this is a small bug actually) the quotes actually appear in the debtor fields reports where they should not appear in any financial reports as they are not invoices per se
Hey Stuart
thanks for that - looks like im the only one who uses Total style :)
re crm - what type of aspects would you envisage?
re quotes - yep - this is a common request - i plan on adding a semi-automated status tracker thing to invoice so quotes arent in the reports and you can easily keep track of where stuff is at

Hey Patrick,
alot of people - like Stuat above have requested similar features - i've added 'workflow' into our 'dreamtime roadmap' and will look into this in the future

Hi,
Different access levels to the data. For example, one collaborator can issue invoices, but he can only see the documents (and clients) he has created.
Thanks Rui
vote for 'Client login' in the July 08 poll if your after that feature
